The ACI Registered Pharmacist, is responsible to review all orders; synonyms; requests for change of any orders or order sentences to ensure that the medication dose, routes, quantities included are current, on formulary and safe. It will be the responsibility of this individual to conveys the understanding and integration of healthcare information technology to ensure the effective provision and to support the business objectives of physicians in healthcare organizations. This position provides leadership within the organization guiding the selection, development, and implementation of information technologies and optimization of clinical software applications throughout the organization pertaining to physician workflow. The clinical content is developed and maintained in accordance with state, federal, accrediting body statues, regulatory agencies, industry standards, and corporate policies and procedures. This position will direct and manage the development and implementation of clinical content for clinicians- workflow which includes computerized physician order entry (CPOE), physician documentation and any additional processes identified. The ACI Director will plan, implement, advance and maintain adoption of the electronic medical record (EMR), physician documentation and use of CPOE throughout all Tenet facilities to measurably improve patient care.
Requirements:
Pharmacy Degree required healthcare field or relevant CPOE experience required. A minimum of five years experience working in healthcare information technology required. Clinical Information Systems experience (Cerner experience preferred). Ability to relate comfortably with Pharmacist Peers and Physicians, as well as other physician extenders. Effective leadership skills and strong customer service orientation. Proven ability to communicate and understand needs of clinicians. Advanced analytical skills to resolve simple to complex problems.
Additional Knowledge and Experience Desired: Progressive leadership and management experience is required. The ideal candidate will have the ability to advocate for best practive. Management experience, strong organizations skills, experience with information technology projects, work diplomacy and conflict resolution are essential skills that will ensure success within a heavily matrixed healthcare organization. Directing, planning, organizing, and monitoring the outcomes of the project team is an expected an essential function. The candidates ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization and to internal and external customers is required.
